Q. Do I need a doctors referral for an appointment at Coast Physiotherapy?

A. No, but if you intend to use your private health insurance to pay for treatment, you should check your policy as some insurers require you to see your doctor first.

Q. Does my health insurance cover my treatment?

A. We are registered with most insurance companies, but you should check that your particular policy covers physiotherapy treatment.

Q. How can I pay for my treatment?

A. We accept cash or cheque.

Q. What should I wear?

A. We will need to look at your area of pain. If you have a leg or back problem then a pair of shorts is probably best. If your problem is your neck or shoulder then a thin strapped top will be best.

Q. What can physiotherapy do that my GP cannot?

A. GP's are highly trained medical doctors. They need a lot of information about a wide range of conditions, aches, pains and illnesses that affect babies through to the elderly. They also need to keep up to date with the latest medication on the market. For this reason it is hard for them to become specialised in one particular area. They will often refer patients onto other professions who are more specialised in one particular field. Physiotherapists are specialists in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems. These are problems that affect muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves.

Q. How much will it cost?

A. The cost of a consultation is £36
